Imperative Sentences – Use of Please/Kindly – Use of Let | With Meaning, Example and Exercise Practice

Imperative Sentence से प्रायः आज्ञा/निषेध/अनुरोध/सुझाव/ प्रस्ताव का बोध होता है। आज्ञा के लिए अनुवाद Verb से शुरू होता है और निषेध के लिए Don’t + Verb से।

जैसे

  1. वहाँ जाओ। Go there.
  2. वहाँ मत जाओ। Don’t go there.
  3. दौड़ो। Run.
  4. मत दौड़ो। Don’t run.
  5. बैठ जाओ। Sit down.
  6. दरवाजा बंद करो। Shut the door.
  7. एक गिलास पानी लाओ। Bring a glass of water.
  8. धूम्रपान मत करो। Don’t smoke.
  9. वर्ग में मत हँसो । Don’t laugh in the class.
  10. उसे मत पीटो। Don’t beat him.
  11. अपनी कलम मुझे दो। Give me your pen.

Please/Kindly का प्रयोग

  1. कृपया मेरी मदद करें। Please help me.
  2. कृपया बैठ जाइए। Please sit down.
  3. कृपया मुझे कुछ पैसे दें। Please give me some money.
  4. कृपया शांत रहें। Please be quiet.
  5. कृपया यह न करें। Please do not do this.
  6. कृपया इसे न छूएँ। Please do not touch this.
  7. दया करके मेरी मदद कीजिए। Kindly help me.

Let का प्रयोग

कुछ Imperative Sentences Let’ से शुरू होते हैं और उनसे ‘प्रस्ताव/सुझाव/आज्ञा/आग्रह’ का बोध होता है।

जैसे

अब हमलोग चलें। Let us go now.

हमलोग एक साथ गाना गाएँ। Let us sing together.

उसे जाने दो। Let him go.

राम को पढ़ने दो। Let Ram read.

मुझे बाहर जाने दो। Let me go out.

उसे अंदर आने दो। Let him come in.

उनलोगों को काम करने दें। Let them work.

उसे मत जाने दो।  Let him not go. or, Don’t let him go.
