For some people, MX Player is just another free to use video player that is available for smartphones and tablets. However, those who know, they have an idea about the true potential of this powerful piece of software. The MX Player app has revolutionized the video playing experience on smartphones and tablets, especially on Android. It is one of the very few apps that support multi-core decoding/rendering on smartphones. You may not find this feature worthwhile when playing a standard 480p or a 720p video. However, try playing some 1080p 60FPS video or a 4K video and see the difference.
MX Player will be able to play the high resolution videos with ease even if your display panel might be 1080p. So, if you have a dual-core or above processor on your smartphone or tablet, MX Player is definitely the app to play videos. Just like other video players, this app too has all of the standard features that people love. Features like swipe to increase/decrease volume/brightness, tap to play/pause and screen-lock are a few of the common features that this app has. But did you know that MX Player has an array of audio and subtitles-related options as well? Read along to find how to add subtitles on this app.

- Subtitles files come with an SRT extension. So be sure that you have the right SRT file already downloaded, or it should be inside the required movie’s folder.
- Open MX Player.
- Play the desired video.
- Go to the Menu option.
- Select the Subtitle option.
- If the SRT file is already available along with the video, you should see it mentioned in the list. Simply tap it.
- In case the SRT file is available somewhere else, you will have to manually search for it in the Android File System.
Once you have selected the correct subtitles file, you are good to go.
